Vincent van Gogh — Visconti

Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a European post-impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. In just over a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life. They include landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, and are characterised by bold colours and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art.

Visconti has launched a series of fountain pens dedicated to Van Gogh. Made from natural resin uniquely mixed to represent palettes of oil paint, the Visconti Van Gogh series is inspired by the artist’s color and technique. Each pen represents a specific Van Gogh painting. The pen utilises Visconti’s eighteen-faceted design, with the many edges enhancing its vivid colors. This Starry Night fountain pen displayed above features a stainless steel nib. In Visconti’s code, a one circle code denotes a fine nib; two circles denotes medium; three circles denotes broad.

This is one of the most comfortable pen I have. It writes so smoothly. For daily use, I would prefer an F-nib pen. But this M-nib Visconti is a weapon when I need to write long ideas in paper without lines (it a bit strange to write “paper without line” btw). I cannot write for hours without feeling tired or bored.
